The microservice universe is here already, so one could ask - what am I blabbing about :) The enterprise Java space is full of choices when it comes to developing and deploying microservices - Spring, JakartaEE, Vert.X, Grails, Ratpack, Spark....just to name a few. So - we have choices, but they are on two ends of spectrum (too lightweight or too "enterprise"). I really like the Spring programming model, so I stick with it, but there are drawbacks in terms of archive size, and startup time (at least). Luckily, there are new options on the horizon that remove the drawbacks and position themselves to be THE choice for microservice delivery. One of them is Micronaut - and this will be an intro talk with live coding using the Micronaut framework to show you where the new breed of frameworks can come in handy.
